It’s been a week since NeoWiz and Round8 Studio launched the controversial free-to-play MMO Bless Unleashed on PC. Originally a console release on Xbox and then PlayStation, Bless Unleashed PC targeted the Steam PC distribution platform as its first PC based launch.

The team is also hosting a “demo” of Bless Unleashed, players can download the demo and check out the tutorial and character creator before the MMO launches later this summer. It will also, according to to NeoWiz, decrease the download size (assuming you keep the demo installed) when the full MMO drops.
While that might read as a good problem to have, there are some bad problems to point out as well. The game is apparently flagged unavailable in Belgium and the Netherlands presumably due to the region’s stance on lockboxes. Official responses have been conflicting in this regard, as an official announcement in February said Bless Unleashed wouldn’t arrive to the region due to “game related regulations,” while a reply to the matter on Steam referenced GDPR restrictions — restrictions, we hasten to point out, are applied to other EU nations that are otherwise not blocked from accessing the MMO.

The devs haven’t done anything to change the UI from the console version to the PC version. The UI
feels absolutely awful, from navigating your bags, the menus and the sheer space it takes and the lack
of customization.

You can only track 2 quests at once, massive pain in the you know what.
You can’t change attack direction by moving the camera like in the New World, resulting in a clunky feel. If
They fixed this, the combat would feel pretty good.
To zoom in you need to go into an options menu rather than just using the mouse scroll wheel.
It’s just a linear predictable run of the mill MMORPG with nothing overly special about it.

Bless Unleashed PC’s story is standard fair stuff. It’s a tale of ancient betrayal and one which “earthshaking disaster has led to thousands of years of enmity between the mortal and the divine. Now, the mad mistress of the dark, great, and terrible Lumenas, has returned to destroy the race of man and sink the earth into endless night”! Oh my! For the most part you’re not going to be emotionally attached to any character like you would in a Final Fantasy game. You’ll most likely skip through the dialogue fast enough to get to your rewards and hasten to the next open world fight.

Bless Unleashed has finally gone from a bottom tier MMO to an average MMO which has far surpassed my expectations for the game considering the track record of the Bless developers. This is actually a game you could probably get a reasonable amount of enjoyment from for a period of time if you don’t mind linear theme-park style MMO levelling.
