EA Sports has just recently released a series of changes of next gen “Madden 21″, providing new features and series to the original mode. GamePur notes that despite them stating that no major changes would happen in the game until the next installment, huge shifts have occurred in the newest “Madden 21″ update. Moreover, reports also show that more Franchise-centric updates will occur in March.
We don’t yet know exactly when this update will be live, but one additional, final franchise update coming in February will add additional CPU logic, plus a way to build your league’s own history book. The final update in February starts with highly requested updates to CPU logic surrounding trades.
Here’s the complete developers note on what Madden fans can count on in the latest Franchise Mode update:
CPU QB Draft Logic Improvements
This first update comes from community feedback and changes the way the CPU drafts quarterbacks in the first round.
“As a part of our next update, we have added new logic checks that CPU teams will use to guide whether they should even be interested in drafting a QB when they’re on the clock in Round 1,” the blog post reads. “Now, teams will evaluate their roster and previous draft picks of the last two years to keep teams from replacing players too soon.”
When a CPU team is on the clock, they will now deprioritize drafting a first round QB if:
Their current starting QB was a 1st round pick in the last two Drafts
Their current starting QB was a 2nd/3rd round pick in the last two Drafts
And has a Normal Dev and 72+ OVR
And has Star or higher Dev trait
Their current starting QB is a 94+ OVR
Their current starting QB is 87+ OVR and 32+ years old
Their current starting QB is 74+ OVR and < 29 years old
Their current backup QB is a Star or higher Dev Trait and < 28 years old
Lastly, if a team’s current starting QB is over 35, the team will consider drafting a replacement.
Franchise Update Changes for March
EA Sports’ publisher also gives users hints of what changes can happen during March. Another patch for the mode set during the second phase of the change will give players a supply of rebalanced player trading systems which will be shown on the final update. It will also introduce along with it a “Franchise League History” page. The page will allow the players to check and take a glance at Super Bowl and individual award winners with each year of their franchise.
The team is also promising improved trade logic that will create more rewarding trades while maintaining authenticity. There will also be a continuing history of your Franchise going forward where players can view the Super Bowl winner and other key award winners for each year of your franchise. These changes are all fueled by community feedback.
